Rajasthan
In August 2024, we launched the Menstruation Awareness Campaign Alwar and Tonk districts of Rajasthan. This project focuses on working with liberated manual scavengers in these two districts. We began by assessing the existing awareness and practices related to menstruation among the women in these areas, followed by the implementation of targeted interventions.
A key aspect of the project is our commitment to empowering and training the liberated manual scavengers in menstrual hygiene management, rather than hiring external experts. After undergoing comprehensive training, these women now lead weekly awareness campaigns within their communities, aiming to foster lasting behavioral changes. Through this sustained effort, we hope to positively impact the menstrual hygiene practices of thousands of women across the Alwar and Tonk districts.
